Based from the WordPress Theme Directory, there are over 4,000 popular themes and about twice that much for latest themes. Considering you only going to need one or two themes for your website, have this much choice is… let’s say… must’ve be hard.
Of course, if you’re a professional web developer or web designer, you probably don’t have much of a problem with this since you just have to pick any theme and just customize it yourself according to your needs.
But what if you’re a beginner? Which WordPress Theme suites your Elementor website?
Anyway, we browsed over hundred popular themes from the WordPress Theme Directory and searched each and every one of them in PublicWWW. We then used Google Data Studio to generate the results through importing the CSV file. These are the results of our findings:
So, what’s going on here?
Well, our top 5 doesn’t really fall far from their actual rankings in Google Trends.
But as you can see here, the ranking between Astra and OceanWP is supposed to be different!
Anyway, we can probably just ignore the results from Google Trends since we’re talking about popular wordpress themes in Elementor websites, not popular WordPress themes searched in Google. It’s still fun to know though, right?
Moving on, let’s analyze our top 5 wordpress themes and see why they’re so popular for Elementor websites.
The Top 5 WordPress Themes
Phlox’s ranking is really easy to explain. First, Phlox is completely free. Second, it’s multipurpose. And third, above all, it’s a WordPress theme powered by Elementor itself! No wonder more than 8,000 Elementor websites are using that them. In addition, Phlox seems to be really popular among Photographers and Bloggers, probably because it’s extremely flexible and fully compatible with really powerful WordPress Page Builders like Elementor.

Based on Google’s Material Design guidelines, Hestia allows you to create really modern-looking and neat websites. And add Elementor over it, you can probably guess why so many designers, developers and marketers prefer it! Still, why is Hestia at number 4? And while also having a free version with competitive features, it provides top-quality performance and professional design even just for its default settings so that’s pretty much explains why 10,000 Elementor websites are using it now!
